And hacking the online versions? I mean, if it was done slowly, and carefully, knowing Americans and their penchant for laziness and not checking facts, I think we could have it entirely rewritten in a few generations, and nobody would know the difference. Just imagine…

In the beginning, God created White Castle, and saw that it was good, so he followed up with McDonalds, Burger King, Wendys, Arbys, (Roy Rogers went extinct), etc., etc.

That’s how it got to the condition it is in now. Edited as desired over several hundred years. Read “Misquoting Jesus” by Bart Ehrman.

The Bible has already been “subverted” through its many translations.

Translation is an imperfect skill. Many times, a translator has a range of words or phrases that can be used and still stay reasonably within the intent of the original language. However, each time there is a translation into another language, it opens up another range of words and phrases. After several translations, the degree of separation from the original text increases.

An interest book on the subject is “Misquoting Jesus” by Bart Ehrman, Chairman of Religious Studies at UNC Chapel Hill.

No. God says that his word would not pass away. People have tried to destroy the Bible but have never been successful. There have even been decrees made in history for every Bible to be burned and the Bible has still stood the test of time. You should be careful about playing around with God.

Nah leave it alone – that terrible tome has caused so much misery over the centuries – updating it in anyway might legitimize it. I just want it to stay as it is – a monument to the incredible gullibility of mankind.
