We have a work meeting coming up soon and I am responsible for planning a fun team building activity that my boss could lead all of us in. Does anyone have a good idea of what we can do? My boss would really like to get to know all of us better so any suggestions on how we can do that for our activity would be much appreciated. Thanks!

  1. Too funny! We had a team building activity back in August. They grouped everyone into groups of 5 with a Team Captain (which was a VP or Senior VP). There were about 8 groups. They mixed the groups so that no one was grouped with anyone in their dept. So they mixed Human Resources, Legal, Accounting, IT, etc.

They didn’t tell anyone what it was ahead of time. They handed out Cardboard slabs (5 x 5), Duct Tape and Boxcutters. They instructed everyone to build a boat. LOL! This function was held at a location with a lake. Our group made a boat that looked more like a surf board. After the boats were made, everyone had to pick 1 person from that group who had to get in the boat and go across the lake to a checkpoint and come back. First person to be able to do it without sinking won. I don’t remember if the group received anything as a reward, but it was fun!

  2. If you have the time and the budget to have a couple of hours to devote to a team building activity then I would suggest checking out http://www.wildlydifferent.com. They have a lot of fun activities that they can run for you.

If you just want a simple icebreaker or mixer I would suggest checking out http://wilderdom.com/games/. They have a lot of great information for free.
